Dr Mark Davies (Director) Full time NHS consultant psychiatrist until four years ago when left to take an MBA and work with GPs, consultants and managers on management and leadership development. Specialises in service development with a focus on performance in key areas such as appraisal, practice development, clinical/manager joint working, commissioning, cross agency working, and Shared Care. Recently has developed and rolled out programmes on Practice-Based Commissioning, Foundation Trusts and Payment by Results.

 

Mike Stedman (Director) Operations & supply chain director with Unilever throughout Europe for 15 years. Focus on developing and delivering novel business solutions in times of structural change for example Austria joining the EU and Germany at reunification. He has now worked for 4 years in organisational development within the public sector identifying numerous opportunities where individuals, organisations and policies can work together for mutual gain. Specialising in analysis, diagnostics, performance and change management.

 

Dr Michael Rosenberg (Associate) Chief Executive of South Downs Mental Health NHS Trust prior to merger. Previously medical director and clinical director of mental health services. Continues as practicing clinician. Key interests working with NHS organisations include engaging clinicians in a sustainable way with service development. Key current contracts include work on improving inpatient services with the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement.

 

Angela Jeffrey (Associate) Chief executive of a Primary care trust with a background in primary care development and HR. Was responsible for the development and leadership of a successful and innovative PCT. Achievements cover commissioning, service development, modernisation, policy development and implementation, human resources, industrial relations and organisational change and development. Has been responsible for capital planning for major hospital developments and general practice, including a PFI scheme for a new hospital. Significant experience of financial management in challenging circumstances. Well tuned political awareness as a trained mentor. A strong belief in the values of the NHS, and the public and 'not for profit' sector, in supporting the well being of local communities.

 

Katy Gordon (Associate) is a qualified Intensive Care Nurse by background and has worked in/with the NHS for over thirty years. She has worked as a manager and facilitator of teams, in both primary and secondary care, and has extensive experience of service redesign, working as a change agent both within and as a consultant to the NHS. She specialises in cardiac care, but has more recently incorporated general Long Term Conditions service transformation to her portfolio. She has worked as Director of two Cardiac Networks, the most recent being in Kent, which she left in April of this year. She has published several articles, was a regular contributor to the Working Lives section of the Health Service Journal between 2004 - 2007, and has recently co-written a book on managing High Blood Pressure, which will be published next year. Katy is an Associate Certified Meta-Coach (ACMC) and is also a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming .

Chris Barnes CB (Associate) Previously chair of a Health Authority, has been a Corporate Affairs Director of a Government Department and has served on company Boards as Chairman and Director.  He is an experienced coach, facilitator, mentor and trainer whose combination of public and private sector background can bring useful insights to those he helps and supports.  He has worked with consultants and junior doctors for over twelve years.  He coaches and facilitates management training for hospital doctors and GPs covering, for example, appraisal & revalidation, workplace based assessments, leadership, change management and negotiation skills.  Since 1996 he has also coached and trained senior staff in almost all Government Departments and many agencies and in the private sector, assisting them with job applications and interview rehearsals.  He works with professionals (social scientists, researchers, natural scientists and others) to help them relate to and influence policymakers and Ministers.  He is an Associate of the National School of Government and an Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments Accredited Independent Assessor.  He also chairs the Governing Board of a plc whose work is related to Government’s interests.  

Dr Charles Turton (Associate) Medical Director of a large acute university trust for 8 years & sometime acting Chief Executive. Interests include managing service change, helping clinical teams in difficulty, and using mediation principles to resolve difficult complaints.

Paul Vickers (Associate) Managing and Operations Director with 30 years experience working with Glaxo, Boots, Exxon and Nalco. Implemented a number of major organisational rationalisations and major planning/construction projects. Has been involved in handling a number of crisis reactions and challenging environmental issues. He is now working with a number of ports on developing their expansion. His key skills are seeing the larger picture, getting buy in from a number of different directions and then getting agreement.

Dr Dennis Lewis (Associate) Board Member for 15 years within a range of Operating and Regional Management groups of a blue chip, FMCG company. Roles from Chairman, Senior Vice President, Managing Director to Technical Director, delivering business objectives in diverse cultures and environments.

Kate Oregan (Associate) With a background in as a social worker and for the last ten years worked in health services management  within the NHS. Broadened understanding of management & organisation issues with the completion of an MBA. Expertise includes service development and redesign, human resource management and organisational restructuring.

Chris Gale (Associate) An independent consultant working on the less tangible aspects of management development, usually called leadership, change, influence, communication, relationships & trust.. Also interested in experiential approaches, story-telling and language issues with perverse liking for ideas and theory. Divides working time between the NHS, the corporate sector and academia.  

Dr Sheenagh Dykes (Associate) Background as a consultant psychiatrist and Medical Director of mental health trust. Her focus is now on coaching in performance issues, career development planning, managing difficult relationships with other senior colleagues and achieving balance between  work and home life. She brings insight, intuition and creativity to problems, and has worked with the NHS and the wider public and private sector.

Andy James (Associate) An experienced training consultant with a background in commercial and project management, has 12  years working in different roles for variety of training and development organisations. Main areas of expertise are around the development of personal and managerial effectiveness, team working, team development and leadership. His approach centres on working with individuals and groups, facilitating performance development by focusing on live business challenges as the vehicle for learning, and providing demonstrable return on investment. Accredited and experienced in the delivery of the TMS profile and is also a member of The Mentor Partnership.

Dr Lea Jones (Associate) Independent management trainer specialising in governance, diversity, equality and appraisal. With background in NGOs including performance management and appraisal, systems analysis and project management, and marketing and PR. Moved to the NHS as a  service manager in community services in inner city and at senior level in a combined mental health & community services trust, supported the merger with two other, local trusts. Well suited to multidisciplinary service delivery, trust-wide business planning, marketing and contract negotiation, and latterly, as co-ordinator for all aspects of quality, risk and clinical

Simon Butler (Account Manager) with extensive experience of both public sector and private sector organisations. Has a background in senior management and the delivery of change programmes. Understands the organisational drivers applicable to each sector.

Susan Barnhurst-Davies (Company Secretary) Wide experience in office management & systems. Broad commercial & independent working across different sectors.

Anastasia Towers (Business Manager) Wide experience in administration and management in the private and public sector in the UK including health and education. International placements in event management and product marketing and sales. Qualified ISO auditor and multilingual including German and Urdu.

Peggy Barnhurst-Davies (Security) Extensive experience in security issues related to commercial & domestic scenarios. Expert in range of risk management issues, as well as operational security.
