Res Consortium has been working with Cancer Alliances to provide online patient pathway support tools using real world data since their creation following the Independent Cancer Taskforce Report in 2015. Our Cancer Toolkit in Hepatic Cancer was one of the first decision-support tools to benchmark population prescribing trends in different cancer work streams across commissioning regions, and within alliance footprints to promote oncology multidisciplinary decision making.

The Challenge:

NHS England requires all Cancer Alliances to deliver the actions and outcomes of the National Cancer Plan for England by 2035, with actions completed towards the plan by 2027 & 2028. This includes accelerating innovation through a new era of partnership and collaboration especially with the new Primary Care Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INT). There is also a drive to create devolved operating model to pull through for innovation, reduce health inequalities in cancer outcomes, and harnessing data and digital technologies.
